Job Description - EDM Operator - 2nd Shift

Description

Projects Inc. has been a trusted manufacturer of complex small, machined components for the Aerospace and Power Systems industries for over fifty-five years. We are seeking an experienced EDM Operator (Setup and Operate) to join our team and contribute to our continued success.

Job Summary:

The EDM Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining electrical discharge machines to manufacture precision parts and components. The role involves understanding manufacturing processes, reading technical drawings, and ensuring high-quality outputs in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up EDM machines according to specifications.
  • Program EDM machines using appropriate software.
  • Monitor the machining process to ensure high-quality output.
  • Inspect finished products for accuracy and quality.
  • Perform routine maintenance on EDM machines.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve machine issues as they arise.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize processes.

Requirements

 Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification preferred.
  • Experience operating EDM machines required.
  • Knowledge of machining processes and software.
  • Strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Good problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to bend, lift up to 25 pounds, pull, push, sit, reach, and stand for up to 8 hours      daily.
  • Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision measurement.
  • Excellent work ethic, adaptability, initiative, attention to detail, and time management.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Second shift hours 3:00 PM to 12:30 AM Monday through Friday.
  • Shift Differential for second shift 
  • Fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Physical ability to bend, lift up to 25 pounds, pull, push, sit, reach, and stand for up to 8 hours per shift.

Collected specimens will be sent to a federally certified laboratory and tested for evidence of marijuana, cocaine, opiates, amphetamines, PCP, benzodiazepines, methadone, methaqualone, propoxyphene use, and specimens may be tested for other illegal drug(s). 

E-Verify

Projects, Inc. participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government with your FormI-9 information to verify you are authorized to work in the United States. Projects Inc. will only use E-Verify once you have accepted a job offer and have completed the Form I-9 upon hire.
