EDM Set-up/Operator

• Reads travelers, process sheets, blueprints, specifications, and sketches of part to determine machining to be done, dimensional specifications, and operating requirements;

• Creates program for new jobs or loads program for repeat jobs;

• Verifies current revision level to ensure consistency of program and documents;

• Designs and/or mounts fixture for work piece to facilitate machining process; Mounts work piece, manually or using hoist;

• Selects and installs appropriate wire diameter and material per set-up sheet;

• Starts machining operation;

• Observes numerical displays on control panel and compares with data on set-up sheet to verify dimensional adjustments, cutting conditions and offsets;

• Runs first piece and inspects for conformance to specifications, using micrometers, other precision gauges;

Candidates should meet the following requirements:

• Self-motivated
• Ability to work within tight tolerances
• Fixture and tooling design
• Ability to analyze and optimize programs
• Programming with Robocut a plus
• 5 years of EDM experience
