Education Facilitator

Job Purpose
The Prevention Coordinator will be responsible for implementing our evidence-based
prevention at our partnering school campuses and juvenile .

SCOPE
The Prevention Coordinator reports to the Program Manager and is responsible for
overseeing program activities, curricula, meetings and events. This includes
coordinating speakers, special presentations, and personal testimonies, and making
appropriate referrals for response and intervention.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Main Activities:

• Administer surveys and questionnaires for participant feedback
  Organize the dissemination of Dating Matters®: Strategies to Promote
  Healthy Teen Relationships, Love Notes, and Parents Matter! evidence-based
  curricula


• Coordinate youth development activities with Outreach Coordinator


• Serve as the School Liaison for academic and campus-based rap sessions


• Make referrals to assist youth in health or emotional crises, management
  issues as required


• Communicate with school counselors/teachers/officials on student progress

         and participation

• Coordinate monthly parent trainings to include: Parents Matter! curriculum,
  special presentations, and communication/correspondence regarding additional trainings and upcoming events


• Gather and compile student academic data


• Coordinate outreach and recruitment in target service areas as well as
  coordinate outreach activities involving schools, community partners,
  stakeholders, businesses, and volunteers


•  Coordinate capacity-building activities and schedule of activities


• Communicate special projects to community stakeholders


• Conduct campus and community-based support services where needed


• Assess Pre and Post Evaluations of adolescents’ and parent performance
  and perceptions

JOB REQUIREMENTS

1.  Experience: Minimum of two years experience as an educator and/or working in a
   position involving youth leadership and management;


2. Skills: Must be Computer literate in Excel and Microsoft Word with skills in writing
   reports and correspondence, managing various programs, projects and staff, in the
   review and analysis of laws, regulations and proposals governing domestic violence,
   dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking education programs at school sites;


3. Knowledge of federal and state regulations governing teen domestic/dating violence
   prevention programs at school sites, project planning;


4. Ability to interact effectively with a variety of individuals in both oral and written form,
   establish and maintain effective interpersonal relationships, learn and interpret specific
   rules, laws, and policies and apply them with good judgment in a variety of situations,
   write clear and decisive planning documents both strategic and near term, establish and
   meet deadlines, travel to various locations, maintain a flexible work schedule,
   successfully manage various assignments simultaneously;


5. Physical Abilities include sitting for extended periods, fine manual dexterity,
   talking/hearing, and near and far visual acuity/depth perception/color vision/field of
   vision.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Early Childhood Education(pr, Public
    Health Education or closely related field;
2. Two (2) years of experience working with Teen Domestic/Dating Violence
    Education, Prevention, and Intervention programs is a Plus;
3. Ability to speak English and Spanish fluently is a Plus
