Job Description - Education Summer Camp Assistant Paid Internship (South Park)

Pittsburgh CLO is a not-for-profit cultural organization dedicated to the preservation, creation and promotion of the American musical theater art form, the furnishing of arts education and providing outreach and meaningful community service opportunities in Western Pennsylvania and throughout the United States.
The Pittsburgh CLO, hailed as one of the nation’s premier regional theaters, is seeking a college aged student for our EDUCATION – SUMMER CAMP ASSISTANT Internship – South Park Location & Downtown Location.

Start Date: 6/12 /2025
End Date: 7/11/2025
Approx. Hours per week: 30
# of Positions: 1

Assist the CLO Academy staff with its Summer Camp programs. Report to the Head Camp Counselor. Assist camp Directors, Music Directors and Choreographers. You may be asked to shop for some camp items outside of the designated camp hours.
South Park Camp meets Monday – Thursday. Camp location is outside at the South Park Amphitheater. Must be in attendance for the end of camp performance on Thursday. (2 weeks)
Downtown Camp meets Monday – Friday, late afternoon/evening hours. (2 weeks)
Specific Responsibilities:

Act as liaison between campers and parents.
Supervise and coordinate camp lunch.
Supervise check-in and check -out procedures.
Initiate theater activities during break times.
Strike set after each camp performance.
Camp hours: 8:30am – 4:00pm. South Park location.
Camp hours: 4:00 – 9:00pm. Downtown location.

Requirements:

Educational clearances are required.
Experience supervising children ages 8– 16 years old.
Superior multi-tasking skills recommended.
Like working with children.
A car is needed. May need to transport camp items.
First Aid certification is recommended.

Compensation and perks include pay at $7.25 per hour and tickets to each performance.
