We are seeking an EHS Specialist. Reporting to the EHS Manager, this position will help maintain regulatory compliance, manage environmental programs, strengthen workplace safety practices, and promote employee engagement throughout the facility.



Environmental compliance is the primary focus of this role. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience with Title V air permits, EPA requirements, stormwater permitting, RCRA, and environmental management systems. Experience within metals, chemical processing, heavy industrial manufacturing, or a related production environment is especially valuable.



Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of professional EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

  • Hands-on environmental compliance experience involving one or more of the following: Title V air permits, EPA compliance and reporting, Stormwater permitting, RCRA and hazardous-waste management, Large Quantity Generator requirements, SPCC or spill-prevention programs.

  • Working knowledge of OSHA requirements and industrial safety programs, including PPE, Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, and machine guarding.

  • Familiarity with ANSI, NEC, NFPA, and other applicable industrial safety standards.

  • Understanding of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards; experience supporting implementation, audits, or ongoing certification is preferred.

  • Manufacturing experience is preferred, particularly within metals, chemical processing, heavy industry, or a similar production environment.

  • Ability to understand technical manufacturing processes and identify associated environmental and safety risks.

  • Strong communication, coaching, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Willingness to maintain a visible presence on the plant floor and engage directly with employees and supervisors.

  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and analytical skills.

  • Mechanical aptitude and project-management experience are beneficial.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, for compliance tracking, data analysis, and reporting.




Essential Duties:

  • Support the daily administration and ongoing improvement of environmental, health, and safety programs.

  • Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental and workplace safety requirements.

  • Assist with Title V air permit compliance, reporting, recordkeeping, and regulatory submissions.

  • Coordinate stormwater permitting, inspections, sampling, documentation, and corrective actions.

  • Support RCRA hazardous-waste requirements, including compliance activities associated with Large Quantity Generator operations.

  • Assist with SPCC, spill prevention, waste management, and other applicable environmental programs.

  • Maintain environmental permits, policies, procedures, inspection records, training documentation, and compliance reports.

  • Support ISO 14001 environmental management and ISO 45001 occupational health and safety systems.

  • Conduct regular facility inspections and EHS audits to identify hazards, compliance concerns, and improvement opportunities.

  • Spend time on the production floor working directly with employees, supervisors, maintenance personnel, and operational leadership.

  • Develop and deliver training related to environmental compliance, PPE, Lockout/Tagout, Hazard Communication, machine guarding, emergency procedures, and other site requirements.

  • Promote safe work practices and encourage employee participation in environmental and safety initiatives.

  • Assist with environmental and safety incident investigations, root-cause analysis, corrective-action development, and follow-up.

  • Track and analyze EHS data to identify trends, measure performance, and recommend improvements.

  • Communicate with regulatory agencies and assist with inspections, reporting, and information requests.

  • Support contractor safety requirements, orientations, documentation, and training.

  • Participate in site Safety Council activities and help advance employee-led safety initiatives.

  • Maintain emergency-response procedures and coordinate drills, exercises, and employee preparedness training.

  • Recommend safer equipment, materials, processes, and work practices when potential risks are identified.

  • Collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, and leadership to implement practical and sustainable EHS solutions.
