Job Description - EKG Technician

Description

This position is responsible for performing inpatient and outpatient electrocardiograms, treadmills, holter and event monitors, and other technical studies.  These tests require the ability to identify and assess cardiac rhythm changes.  Position also performs schedule coordination; office duties, training of new employees, as well as the use of fax machines, computers and multi-phone lines.  Position may also require the ability to perform designated Lead duties in the absence of the Lead Technician.

Required qualification:

  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire

Preferred qualifications:

  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant program
  • 3 years of EKG experience
  • Experience preferred in Holter and event recorders, and cardiac stress testing
  • Office experience, typing, experience in hospital setting with patient contact.
