Electrical Engineer (4 - 9 Years' Experience)

Most of our projects are renovations, frequently of only the MEP/FP systems, so it makes for some interesting and challenging projects. The fun of renovation work is dealing with the existing constraints imposed by the structure or building operations. We find ourselves regularly solving problems like how to make the equipment fit into an existing building or figuring out how the contractor will build your design. WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR SUMMER CONSULTANTS?

• Pursue the PE exam.
• Dive into designing quality projects from day one. Lead system design, including AGI lighting and power calculations and layouts surveying existing conditions, assisting in project management and coordination, and lots more fun stuff.

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING WITH YOU?

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology or Architectural Engineering (Electrical / Lighting focus).
• 4 to 9 years’ experience in lighting and power design.
• Experience with AGI32, SKM and/or Easypower a plus
• Experience in production of construction documents and follow-on construction services. Position includes performing field surveys, and preparing code analyses, calculations, equipment selections, and specifications.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Proficient in either AutoCAD or Revit.
• Excellent planning and organizational skills.
• Ability to conduct day-long field surveys outdoors and indoors in conditioned and unconditioned spaces, including walking up to 10-20k steps in a day, climbing up and down a 6-foot ladder, kneeling, squatting, and bending.
• Ability to obtain site access at client locations.
• Ability to travel up to 12 nights in a year, in addition to day-long field surveys.
