Electrical Estimator - Electrical Construction - Base Salary to 200k/year - Elk Grove Village, IL

• Our client is an established electrical contractor serving commercial, industrial, and mission-critical construction markets throughout the Chicagoland area. • They are seeking an Electrical Estimator with commercial electrical construction experience to prepare detailed material and labor estimates, perform electrical quantity takeoffs, and support competitive bidding for electrical construction projects.

Responsibilities:

• Perform detailed electrical material and labor quantity takeoffs for commercial electrical construction projects, including power distribution, lighting, electrical systems, switchgear, feeders, branch circuits, and electrical devices.
• Prepare electrical construction estimates using estimating software, labor units, material pricing, and productivity factors, including NECA standards and labor units.
• Review electrical drawings, blueprints, specifications, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, and construction documents to determine project scope and estimating requirements.
• Develop detailed cost estimates, bid proposals, value engineering alternatives, and project pricing for electrical installations.
• Solicit, evaluate, and compare vendor and subcontractor quotations for switchgear, lighting, generators, automatic transfer switches (ATS), uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), fire alarm systems, and low-voltage systems.
• Prepare bid clarifications, requests for information (RFIs), bid logs, proposal documentation, and scope reviews.
• Develop preliminary electrical one-line diagrams, feeder schedules, material counts, and quantity takeoff sheets to support estimates and proposals.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in electrical construction, either office or field, or an Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) or Construction Management (CM) degree with relevant internships.
• Experience estimating commercial electrical construction projects, including electrical material and labor takeoffs.
• Experience reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, construction drawings, single-line diagrams, riser diagrams, technical specifications, and submittals.
• Working knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) fundamentals, commercial and multi-tenant residential electrical assemblies, and electrical distribution equipment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel.
• Ability to visit active construction sites throughout the Chicagoland area and meet job-related travel requirements.

Compensation:

• Base salary in the 100k - 200k/year range
• Performance bonus eligibility.
