Are you a Senior Electrical Estimator with proven experience in high-end residential and hospitality construction projects and a passion for delivering accurate, well-organized estimates? We're urgently looking for a detail-oriented professional to join a preconstruction team supporting luxury residential and hotel/resort developments throughout the Caribbean Islands. If you enjoy reviewing electrical plans and specifications, preparing comprehensive cost estimates, and working closely with subcontractors and vendors throughout the bidding process, this role is for you. As the only Electrical Estimator on the team, you'll need to work with a high degree of autonomy, though candidates at different experience levels with strong alignment to the role are also welcome to apply.

What you'll do

  • Support the preconstruction team through the development of cost estimates, value management strategies, and estimate proposal reports.

  • Review and interpret electrical plans, specifications, drawings, addenda, bid documents, and contract requirements.

  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for electrical systems, equipment, materials, and labor.

  • Prepare accurate estimates primarily for high-end residential and hospitality projects.

  • Solicit, analyze, and level pricing from subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.

  • Prepare bid proposals, scopes of work, clarifications, exclusions, and assumptions for trade contractors.

  • Identify gaps, discrepancies, conflicts, and potential risks within construction documents, communicating findings clearly to the project team.

  • Develop value engineering options and alternative approaches to improve competitiveness and cost efficiency.

  • Understand the impact of schedule requirements on project costs.

  • Prepare estimates at various stages of design, including conceptual, schematic, design development, and construction documents.

  • Manage multiple estimates simultaneously while prioritizing urgent tasks and maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.

  • Take ownership and accountability of the complete electrical estimating process.

What you must have

  • Proven experience as an Electrical Estimator, ideally at a senior level, on residential (luxury) construction projects.

  • Strong experience reviewing electrical plans, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.

  • Hands-on experience preparing detailed electrical cost estimates and quantity takeoffs.

  • Advanced skills with estimating software.

  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.

  • Confidence communicating and negotiating with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the ability to prioritize urgent tasks and manage multiple estimates simultaneously.

  • Proactive ability to identify and clearly communicate gaps, discrepancies, conflicts, and potential risks.

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with the preconstruction team.

  • Adaptability across different design stages, from conceptual design through construction documents.

  • Commercial awareness and a cost-conscious mindset.

  • Interest in long-term professional growth.

A great plus

  • Previous experience working on high-end residential or hotel/resort developments, particularly in the Caribbean Islands.

  • A track record of developing value engineering alternatives that improve competitiveness and cost efficiency.

  • Experience preparing bid proposals, scopes, clarifications, exclusions, and assumptions for trade contractors.

  • Previous experience coordinating directly with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors throughout the bidding process.
