Position Summary 

The responsibilities of the ELECTRICAL INSPECTOR include but are not limited to performing inspections of electrical and instrumentation installation and procedures for multiple energy clients.  

  • Monitor and review the implementation of the contractor’s site quality management system 
  • Set and prepare project quality audit schedules and conduct project quality auditing. Provides technical assistance to project management in selecting optimum construction procedures and/or techniques to meet project specifications 
  • Competent in understanding electrical codes and industry practices for low, medium, and high voltage components 
  • Deliver technical assistance to project management regarding the selection of tools, instruments, and test equipment to implement or remove in the project quality control 
  • Arrange and conduct drawing audits on field drawings to ensure that the drawings being used are the most current revision 
  • Enhance quality performance and exceed expectations across the project through audits and surveillance 
  • Coordinate examination, inspection, and test plans with project management and client representatives 
  • Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures 
  • Review and monitor documentation and provide feedback  
  • Prepare reports and submit as required  
  • Contributes information for daily workforce, materials, and equipment report, and weekly progress summary

Requirements

  • Contract salary day position requiring (6) six a week 
  • High School Diploma/GED Certification 
  • 4+ yrs. as Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector or equivalent related experience 
  • OSHA 10 certification  
  • NCCER, CEI/CEI-M certification preferred but not required 
  • Proficient in AC/DC applications, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic components 
  • Working knowledge of E&I testing, calibration, inspection, functional testing, and field installation  
  • Proficient in applications such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat Reader DC 
  • Prove ability to provide visionary strategic leadership; experience guiding the implementation of a strategic plan, measuring progress, and adapting as necessary  
  • Basic understanding of electricity and instrumentation
  • Ability to work alone or within a group 
  • Self-driven to completion of job 
  • Must have a strong commitment to personal and team safety 
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills, and ability to multi-task  
  • Effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the team, customers, and external contacts., via telephone, in written form, email, and in person 
  • Ability to learn company specific applications 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment  
  • Excellent customer service skills  
  • Familiarity in the renewable and fossil fuel energy sectors is preferred but not required 

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to travel from 90-100% 
  • Ability to lift and transport items weighing up to 25 lbs 
  • Ability to sustain a level of physical activity, including walking, climbing, bending, and sitting 
  • Good finger dexterity to be able to work and handle small objects 
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow company procedures and manufacturers guidelines  
  • Requires the ability to demonstrate regular and predictable attendance on the job  
  • Perform work in remote field settings and exposure to extreme weather conditions including hot, cold, muddy, and wet environments   
  • Valid active driver's license and the ability to operate a vehicle 
  • Ability to pass all random DOT Drug and Alcohol Testing
