Electrical Technician PNO

Job Summary

Under general supervision, the Electrical Technician repairs, designs, maintains, implements, and improves reliability on industrial electrical equipment and fixtures. Works with other Electrical Technicians and Engineers to improve reliability of electrical systems, foster teamwork, and ensure a safe work environment. Prepares electrical materials, components, and assemblies for evaluation and able to interpret engineering change orders, blueprints, diagrams, sketches, photographs, and other documentation as they relate to assigned duties. Construct and install conduit and cable systems. Lays out and construct basic/complex electrical circuits, fixtures, and assemblies based on drawings and verbal instructions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Repairs, modifies, maintains, implements, and improves reliability on industrial electrical equipment and fixtures


• Works with other Electrical Technicians and Engineers to improve reliability of electrical systems, foster teamwork, and ensure a safe work environment


• Prepares electrical materials, components, and assemblies for evaluation and able to interpret engineering change orders, blueprints, diagrams, sketches, photographs, and other documentation as they relate to assigned duties


• Construct and install conduit and cable systems


• Lay out and construct basic/complex electrical circuits, fixtures, and assemblies based on drawings and verbal instructions


• Perform basic and complex troubleshooting tasks for electrical equipment and fixtures 


• Responsible for callouts and overtime


• Read and interpret electrical blueprints, diagrams and schematics


• Maintain required documentation for equipment repair, preventive maintenance, and mechanical integrity tasks


• Perform Preventative Maintenance, and document and report deficiencies to supervisor


• Perform LOTO according to procedure


• Ability to mentor and develop less skilled/experienced technicians


• Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Possession of a State of Texas Journeyman Electrical license


• 5 years craft experience in the Petrochemical industry

 Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of an associate degree in Electrical Technology or equivalent preferred


• Vast knowledge of National Electric Code


• Demonstrates all performance/behaviors listed below in addition to the following; exceptional technical and/or analytical skills and performs unique tasks beyond that expected


• Computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
