This position is part of the Mobile facility team serving Atlantic Health's offsites located throughout New Jersey. Team member will utilize a work order system on an Ipad to access, view, complete, and close out tasks daily. Team Member is expected to work in a group and also alone when needed while being conscience of good time management.
Responsible for testing and exercising generators and organizing the documentation. Responding to facility requests also installing, connecting, testing, and sustaining organization-wide electrical systems for a variety of purposes, including climate control, security, and communications. Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand and power tools. Also being a team player by helping with any other facility item tasks that come up.
Principal Accountabilities:
1. Figures layout and installs and repairs wiring, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels.
2. Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows construction blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring.
3. Measures, cuts, assembles, and installs electrical conduit, using tools, such as hacksaw, pipe threader, and conduit bender.
4. Pulls wiring through conduit, assisted by the electrician helper.
5. Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, using knife or pliers, twisting or soldering wires together, and applying tape or terminal caps.
6. Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor and installs grounding leads.
7. Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components, using testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery, buzzer, and oscilloscope.
8. Observes functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required:
1. High School Diploma or equivalent.
2. 5+ years of experience working as a Electrician, Journeyman or relevant area.
3. Knowledge of emergency generated power for servicing and maintaining.
4. Valid NJ driver's license.
5. Experience working with high and low-voltage systems and controls.
6. Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations (OSHA).
Preferred:
1. Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
