We’re looking for an experienced Electronics Technician to build, inspect, test, and troubleshoot wiring harnesses and electronic assemblies in a fast-paced, start-up style environment. You’ll work closely with engineering and production, in the field as well as a controlled production environment, to support rapid iteration, shifting priorities, and continuous improvement—while maintaining high workmanship standards. Harness definition and scope may vary project-to-project. You will be expected to work collaboratively with team members, leaning on communication skills to ensure high quality and accurate workmanship
This role is hands-on and detail-driven: you’ll be assembling harnesses and electronics to IPC standards, performing EOL testing (hi-pot, DMM, continuity, etc.), documenting results, and driving quality improvements when issues arise.
Responsibilities
- Build and rework wiring harnesses including cut/strip/crimp, splice, terminate, label, loom, and route to drawings and work instructions.
- Assemble and rework electronics (connectors, cabling, mechanical integration, basic solder touch-up where applicable).
- Perform EOL testing and verification using tools such as hi-pot testers, multimeters (DMM), continuity testers, and other bench equipment; interpret results and identify failure modes.
- Support PCBA test and troubleshooting (preferred): basic board-level debug using DMM, visual inspection, connector/IO verification, and coordination with engineering for deeper diagnostics.
- Execute inspection to workmanship standards (IPC-A-610 / IPC/WHMA-A-620); identify nonconformances and drive corrective actions.
- Maintain clear build documentation, travelers, test logs, rework records, and traceability as required.
- Collaborate daily with Engineering, Quality, and Manufacturing to resolve issues quickly, implement ECOs, and improve build/test methods.
- Contribute to 5S / lean improvements at the bench and cell level (tool organization, defect-proofing, standardized work, etc.).
- Participate in first-article builds, prototype iterations, and transition-to-production efforts.
Qualifications
- 3+ years hands-on experience in wire harnessing and electronics assembly in a prototype and/or production environment.
- Demonstrated capability with EOL test and best practices (hi-pot, DMM, continuity, insulation resistance as applicable).
- Strong ability to read and interpret work instructions, wiring diagrams, prints, and basic schematics.
- Experience with common harness processes: crimping, connector pinning/de-pinning, heat shrink, strain relief, labeling, harness layout/board or formboard methods.
- High attention to detail and comfort working in an environment with shifting priorities and quick iteration.
- Ability to maintain accurate build/test documentation and follow quality processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (preferred)
- IPC-A-610 certification (preferred)
- J-STD-001 exposure (plus)
- Experience with PCBA testing and troubleshooting (test fixtures, boundary checks, IO verification, basic fault isolation).
- Familiarity with aerospace/regulated environments (plus): ESD controls, traceability, controlled rework, configuration management.
- Experience supporting prototype-to-production scaling and writing/improving work instructions.
If you don’t currently hold IPC certifications but can demonstrate strong workmanship and are willing to obtain them, we still encourage you to apply.
Tools & Skills You’ll Use
- Hi-pot tester, multimeter (DMM), continuity tester
- Basic bench equipment (power supplies, hand tools, crimp tools, microscopes/loupes as applicable)
- ESD-safe handling practices and bench setup
- Harness build aids: formboards, jigs/fixtures (where applicable)
- Documentation: travelers, checklists, test logs; basic digital record-keeping
