Elementary Resource Room Teacher

• Assess student performance and document academic progress.
  
  


• Coordinate with educators, related service providers, and families.
  
  


• Implement educational plans and support progress toward IEP goals.
  
  


• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student-centered planning.
  
  


• Maintain organized records and required special education documentation.
  
  


• Promote student engagement, skill development, and increasing independence.
  
  


• Deliver targeted instruction to students in grades 3–5 within a resource-room setting.
  
  


• Adapt lessons, materials, and teaching methods to address individual learning needs.
  
  

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
   
   


2. Previous school-based special education experience is preferred.
   
   


3. Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an appropriate special education endorsement.
   
   


4. Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS I) endorsement/credential appropriate for the students and grade levels served.
