Provides emergency medical care in academic, community, and hybrid clinical environments while treating patients with acute illnesses, injuries, and medical emergencies. Works collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care in fast-paced emergency department settings.
Participates in patient evaluation, diagnosis, treatment planning, and emergency procedures while supporting healthcare operations and patient safety initiatives. Contributes to medical education through teaching and mentoring activities involving residents and medical students.
May participate in research programs, simulation training, ultrasound education, quality improvement projects, and leadership initiatives depending on assigned practice setting. Supports clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement in emergency medicine services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Evaluate, diagnose, and treat emergency medical conditions
Provide urgent and critical care services in emergency department settings
Perform emergency medical procedures and patient stabilization
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, specialists, and healthcare staff
Maintain accurate patient documentation and medical records
Participate in emergency response and patient safety initiatives
Support medical education and training activities for residents and students
Participate in research, simulation, ultrasound, or quality improvement programs where applicable
Follow healthcare regulations, hospital policies, and clinical standards
Participate in departmental meetings, operational activities, and clinical initiatives
Work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
Minimum Requirements / Skills
Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in Emergency Medicine
Strong clinical knowledge in emergency and acute care medicine
Excellent patient assessment and decision-making skills
Ability to work effectively in high-pressure healthcare environments
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
Experience or interest in teaching, research, and academic medicine preferred
Knowledge of emergency procedures, patient stabilization, and critical care practices
Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
