Job Responsibilities

• Serve as Emergency Medicine Medical Director overseeing all ED operations for a 15,000 annual visit emergency department
• Provide direct patient care delivering clinical emergency medicine services during 12-hour shifts
• Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team of emergency medicine physicians, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners
• Collaborate with hospital administration and leadership on quality improvement initiatives, patient throughput optimization, and department performance metrics
• Establish and maintain emergency department protocols, policies, and clinical standards of care
• Participate in peer review, continuing medical education, and emergency medicine best practice implementation
• Ensure compliance with emergency care regulations, accreditation standards, and patient safety requirements
• Mentor and support professional development of emergency department providers and advanced practice providers

Job Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or DO) from accredited institution
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine (ABEM or AOBEM), OR Family Practice/Internal Medicine with minimum 2 years recent Emergency Medicine experience
• Active Florida medical license or eligibility to obtain Florida licensure
• Current ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) certification required
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification required
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required
• Prior emergency department leadership, medical director, or administrative experience strongly preferred
• Experience with Meditech EMR system beneficial
• Strong clinical skills in emergency medicine, trauma care, and acute care medicine
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to high-quality patient care and emergency department excellence
