Emergency Room Registered Nurse

A full-time Emergency Room Registered Nurse opportunity is available at a 238-bed acute care hospital in Panama City, Florida. This facility features a 44-bed Emergency Department and is recognized for its Advanced Primary Stroke Care certification, Comprehensive Breast Care Center accreditation, and designation as the area's only Accredited Chest Pain Center with Primary PCI and Resuscitation. The hospital is also home to the region's only Pediatric Emergency Department, Level III NICU, and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, offering a dynamic and rewarding emergency care environment.

The Emergency Room Registered Nurse provides compassionate, high-quality care to patients of all ages presenting with a wide variety of medical conditions, from minor illnesses and injuries to life-threatening emergencies. This role requires strong clinical judgment, exceptional multitasking abilities, and the flexibility to continually reassess priorities in a fast-paced setting. Responsibilities include performing comprehensive assessments, developing individualized care plans, coordinating treatment with physicians and interdisciplinary teams, and ensuring safe patient transitions through education, discharge planning, and follow-up instructions.

Responsibilities:

  Assess, triage, and provide nursing care for patients across all levels of acuity.

  Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and clinical findings.

  Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in status.

  Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.

  Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members.

  Provide patient and family education, discharge instructions, and follow-up recommendations.

  Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care activities.

  Promote patient safety while managing multiple patients in a fast-paced emergency setting.

  
  

Qualifications:

• 
  

  Minimum of one year of recent acute care Emergency Room RN experience required. Strong ICU or PCU experience may also be considered.

  Active Florida Registered Nurse license, multistate license, or eligibility to obtain Florida licensure prior to start required.

  
  


• 
  

  Associate Degree in Nursing or Registered Nurse Diploma required.

  
  


• 
  

  Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required prior to employment.

  
  


• 
  

  Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

  Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 90 days of hire.

  Nonviolent Crisis Intervention certification required within 90 days of hire.
