Job Overview


As a PCT in the Emergency Department, you’ll support nurses in caring for infants, children, adults, and geriatric patients experiencing real or perceived emergency conditions. You’ll assist with hygiene, mobility, vital signs, documentation, and provide calm, compassionate support — including care for patients nearing the end of life. Your steady presence and attention to detail help ensure patients receive safe, high‑quality care in a dynamic, fast‑moving environment.

What You’ll Do



  • Assist with bathing, oral care, toileting, and linens

  • Support safe mobility, repositioning, and transfers

  • Monitor and record vital signs

  • Document patient information accurately

  • This role includes exposure to bodily fluids and sensitive patient situations

  • Safely lift/move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation


About the Henderson Emergency Department


The Henderson ED is a 17‑bed unit with two critical care rooms, one isolation room, one mental health room, and 13 general treatment rooms. The department includes triage, a reception area, a patient/family lounge, a Hazmat/decontamination area, and a quiet room, caring for approximately 24,000 patients each year. With strong teamwork and exposure to a wide range of emergency conditions, the ED offers an excellent environment for building fast‑paced clinical skills.


Requirements



  • Basic Life Support (BLS) within six months of hire

  • Basic Dysrhythmia Class within six months of hire

  • Optional Advanced Splinting Class

  • High school diploma or GED required; must be 18 years of age

  • Completion of required PCT classes, ED orientation, and hospital competencies
