Employment Specialist

The YWCA Greater Harrisburg is seeking an innovative and energetic Substance Use Employment Specialist to assist consumers with Drug & Alcohol (D&A) barriers secure meaningful (competitive) employment opportunities in compliance with specific time-related grant requirements.


The Substance Use Employment Specialist will need to be familiar with Supported Employment practices, vocational services, the D&A population, social service resources, area employers, job development, community outreach, and wrap around services. ACRE certification is a plus. This candidate will provide employment guidance and support to program participants with a D&A diagnosis or co-occurring disorders.

Position Details:

• Hours 8am to 4pm, Monday - Friday
• Pay is $18.31/hr.

• Minimum 2 years proven success in human services, social work, or employment readiness.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• ACRE certification is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Personal vehicle and proof of insurance (mileage reimbursed).
• FBI, Child Abuse, and State Police Clearances.
