General Summary


WellSpan Medical Group seeks full-time Physician, Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism for their WellSpan Endocrinology – 292 St. Charles Way location in York County.  Individual must be a graduate of accredited school of medicine with Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree plus completion of internal residency training program and Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism Fellowship program.  Must have PA medical license and be Board Certified in internal medicine and board certified/eligible in Endocrinology.   Responsible for diagnosing and treating hormone disorders, complications and other problems relating to the endocrine system. Will evaluate patient symptoms and medical histories, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment and management plans for hormonal imbalances. Will advise, order, and perform tests and interpret results. Discuss diagnoses with patients, explaining treatment options. 



Responsibilities

Duties and Responsibilities

Essential Functions:



  • Provides patient-centered care in outpatient endocrinology settings, including hospital and ED coverage.

  • Diagnoses and manages patient conditions; orders and interprets laboratory tests and imaging; and develops individualized, comprehensive treatment plans.

  • Educates patients on disease processes, medications, and lifestyle modifications.

  • Documents all patient interactions in the electronic health record (EHR) according to organizational policies.

  • Maintains a private practice at a location(s) within the Medical Group.

  • Collaborates with referring providers and multidisciplinary care teams for coordinated care.

  • Teaches/preceps residents and medical students.

  • Supervision and collaboration with APPs.

  • Participates in Medical Staff activities and Internal Medicine Residency Conferences as required and/or as requested.

  • Participates in team-based quality and safety initiatives.

  • Observes the Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Hospital and the Medical Staff.

  • Demonstrates a commitment to patient, visitor and staff by: complying with all applicable safety regulations; learning the impact of medical errors and methodology that will lead to reduction of errors; reporting actual and potential errors, as well as hazardous conditions; identifying opportunities to standardize processes and "error proof" systems that will lead to increased safety; and participating in safety education programs and root cause analyses as required.

  • Provides outstanding service to all customers; fosters teamwork; and practices fiscal responsibility through improvement and innovation.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Minimum Education:



  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or

  • Doctor of Osteopathy (DO)


Licenses:



  • PA medical license 


Courses and Training:



  • Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine (sub-specialty - Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism). Upon Hire Required and

  • Completion of an Internal Medicine residency. Upon Hire Required and

  • Must qualify and be a member of the Medical Staff of York Hospital. Upon Hire Required


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:



  • Teaching skills.
