Our employees are not only part of history, they\u0027re making history.\n\nNorthrop Grumman is currently seeking a Propulsion Engineer \u2013 Level 2 or 3 to join our team at our Palm Beach Gardens, Florida location to support the Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS\u0026C) business unit.\n\nThe Northrop Grumman PS\u0026C business unit is based in Elkton, Maryland and began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS\u0026C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The Palm Beach Gardens location is the Air-breathing propulsion center of excellence specializing in the design, analysis and system integration of ramjets, scramjets and other advanced air-breathing propulsion systems.\n\nPalm Beach Gardens, Florida is located a very short distance from the Atlantic Ocean. You would be close to many top beaches, fishing, inland eco-tours, shopping, and restaurants. Palm Beach Gardens also has many top golf choices and is home to The Professional Golfers Association of America and PGA National Resort. \n\nhttps://www.thepalmbeaches.com/explore-cities/palm-beach-gardens\n\nPerform design of one or more moderately complex or portions of structural components and functional systems of company products. Generally work from preliminary studies developed by higher graded engineers. Analyze requirements for materials, structural component, or functional systems. Select applicable analytical data from previous products, determine the technical principles involved, mathematically define the problem and compute the engineering characteristics consistent with the specifications, design needs and requirements of other portions of the product. Release results as design data after review by higher graded engineer. Develop original ideas and elaborate on preliminary design concepts. Evaluate completed design with supervisor and other technical groups and make modification necessary to achieve the most ideal design.\n\nJob Responsibilities\n\n\u00b7 Performs design of one or more moderately complex or portions of structural components and functional systems\n\n\u00b7 With limited supervision, applies theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of more complex components, structures, and sub-assemblies\n\n\u00b7 Responds in a timely manner to all requests and explores all avenues within authority and makes appropriate referrals to other sources\n\n\u00b7 Makes thoughtful and valuable suggestions and recommendations for improving own work and/or group\u2019s work\n\n\u00b7 Establish requirements for materials, structural components, and functional systems\n\n\u00b7 Release results as design data after review from other engineers\n\n\u00b7 Document results of design activities\n\nThe level of hire will depend upon demonstrated education, experience, skills, and competency.\n\nBasic Qualifications for level 2\n\n\u00b7 Requires Bachelors in STEM plus 2 years of related experience or Master\u2019s Degree in STEM, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred\n\n\u00b7 Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite\n\n\u00b7 Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills\n\n\u00b7 Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point)\n\n\u00b7 Working knowledge of computer aided design (CAD) software\n\n\u00b7 Knowledge of ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD\u0026T)\n\nBasic Qualifications for level 3\n\n\u00b7 Requires Bachelors in STEM plus 5 years of related experience or Master\u2019s Degree in STEM plus 3 years of experience or PhD in STEM plus at least 1 year of experience, Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred\n\n\u00b7 Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance which requires US Citizenship as a pre-requisite\n\n\u00b7 Proficiency with Siemens NX\n\n\u00b7 Knowledge of ASME Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD\u0026T)\n\n\u00b7 Ability and willingness to travel\n\nPreferred Qualifications both levels\n\n\u00b7 Current active Security Clearance\n\n\u00b7 Working knowledge of NX\n\n\u00b7 Knowledge of general machine shop fabrication processes, additive manufacture experience desirable\n\n\u00b7 Understanding of design for assembly / design for manufacturing (DFA/DFM)\n\n\u00b7 Ability and willingness to travel\n\nPrimary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $131,400.00\n\nSecondary Level Salary Range: $103,600.00 - $163,200.00\n\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate\u0027s experience, education, skills and current market conditions.\n\nDepending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.\n\nThe application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
