POSITION OVERVIEW
As a Senior Entry Writer, you will play a critical role in completing the import entry process for our clients. You will be responsible for creating, inputting, preparing, and in some circumstances assisting with auditing customs entries to ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations and other government related agencies. This position offers a unique opportunity to continue gaining valuable experience in the customs brokerage industry while working alongside other seasoned professionals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Customs Entry Management: Oversee and execute the preparation and submission of complex customs entries, ensuring they comply with all relevant customs regulations and requirements.
2. Classification Expertise: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of the Harmonized System (HS) codes to assist in accurately classifying goods and ensure proper duty calculation and valuation.
3. Document Review: Lead the review and verification of import documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, certificates of origin and other multiple required documents for CBP and other participating government agencies.
4. Customs Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to customs laws, regulations, and procedures, providing guidance to the team on compliance matters.
5. Training: Provide guidance and basic training to entry writers, assisting in their professional development and ensuring the team's overall performance excellence.
6. Client Interaction: Collaborate directly with specific clients and internal teams to gather necessary information, address inquiries, and resolve customs-related issues promptly and professionally.
7. Record Maintenance: Maintain meticulous records of all customs entries, documentation, and compliance-related data for auditing and reporting purposes.
8. Software Utilization: Operate customs brokerage software and databases to facilitate entry filing.
9. Problem Resolution: Investigate and resolve customs issues or compliance discrepancies.
Regulatory Updates: Stay updated on changes in customs regulations, trade agreements, and industry trends, sharing insights and recommendations with colleagues.

Training Skills: Ability to communicate and provide basic training to entry writers.
