UCT is looking for a talented Parts Cleaning Technician I to join us in Scarborough, ME!
The Parts Cleaning Technician I is a hands-on role performing manual cleaning, scrubbing, and preparation of metal components in a manufacturing environment. This role supports production by executing manual cleaning and preparation steps to ensure parts meet quality standards and are ready for downstream processing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform manual cleaning and processing of parts using established procedures
- Execute tasks such as wiping, scrubbing, rinsing, and preparing components for further processing
- Support operations within the anodized processing area, including handling parts before and after processing
- Load, unload, and stage parts safely to support production flow
- Follow work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality
- Perform visual inspection of parts to identify defects, residue, or damage
- Maintain accurate production and process documentation
- Identify and report quality issues, equipment concerns, or process deviations
- Maintain clean and organized work areas in accordance with 6S standards
- Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements, especially when working around chemicals
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
- Support additional tasks as needed to meet production goals
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to perform hands-on, repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to follow step-by-step instructions and standardized processes
- Comfortable working in an environment involving manual cleaning and chemical processes
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools and basic equipment
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
- Willingness to learn and take direction
Preferred:
- Experience in manufacturing, processing, or industrial cleaning environments
- Experience working with wet processes or chemical handling
- Familiarity with inspection or quality control processes
Educational/Certification Requirement:
- High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
- 0–2 years of manufacturing or related experience preferred
- Equivalent combination of training and experience considered
Work Environment
- Manufacturing environment within an anodized processing area (not a cleanroom)
- Hands-on, physical work supporting production flow
- Moderate-paced production environment with defined tasks and workflows
- Work performed in accordance with safety and operational standards

- Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
- Frequent repetitive motions including wiping, scrubbing, and handling parts

- Ability to perform physically active work in a production environment
Environmental Exposure
- Exposure to a manufacturing environment with wet and chemical processing activities
- Exposure to cleaning agents, chemicals, and process-related materials
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and protective gear
- Moderate noise levels from production equipment
- Work may involve repetitive tasks and production-driven pace
Overnight Travel:
Work may require out-of-town travel depending upon assignment (training and meeting).
