Entry-Level Trader Trainee

Richmond International Forest Products is recognized as one of the premier commodity lumber, building products and industrial trading companies who has been in business for over 40 years. We are looking for a self-motivated and ambitious individual to join our team, who is enthusiastic about building customer relationships and has a strong desire to succeed while managing their own book of clients.

Starting out, you will actively participate in our trader trainee program which provides you with the skills and knowledge necessary to be successful once you hit the trading floor. Responsibilities in the Trainee role:

• Work with our logistics team to grow the RIFP transportation network and negotiate freight rates
• Assist in inventory management and perform write up orders
• Communicate and collaborate with traders to resolve challenges on the trading floor and issues that arise with customers
• Network with RIFP traders to learn about the company’s business model
• Prospect, cold call and start to develop a book of business
