AGENCY INFORMATION: The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry’s Land Use Planning Commission announces an Environmental Licensing Supervisor vacancy. The Land Use Planning Commission is a 9-member, citizen board that governs land use planning, permitting, and zoning in the portions of Maine that are unorganized or de-organized, areas covering ~10.4 million acres. The staff is responsible for permitting, compliance, planning, and administrative functions, operating out of five regional and central offices in Augusta.
BRIEF JOB DESCRIPTION: This is a professional services position that works directly with the Permitting and Compliance Manager and as part of the division’s management team to administer the Commission’s permitting, compliance, and enforcement programs. Specifically, this position supervises the Environmental Licensing II and III positions. The Environmental Licensing Supervisor:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced education, training, and/or experience in environmental science or a related scientific field and demonstrated experience directing, assigning, and appraising work for project teams, analyzing and processing permits, applications, licenses, and technical information, and drafting policies, rules, regulations, and/or complex technical documents in a scientific and/or legal field. Experience as a team lead with caseload oversight is required.
