Summary: Operates plow trucks, skid loaders, end loaders, and other equipment to clear snow and ice from industrial and commercial properties, as contracted or instructed. Keeps parking lots, drive lanes, loading docks, and entrances safe and accessible so customers' operations can continue during winter weather.
Essential Functions:
· Operate plow trucks, skid loaders, end loaders, and other snow removal equipment to clear parking lots, drive lanes, loading docks, and entrances
· Plow, push, and stack snow in designated areas, keeping fire lanes, hydrants, storm drains, and sightlines clear
· Apply salt, brine, or other ice melting agents with spreaders or by hand, following site-specific application guidelines
· Shovel or blow walkways, entries, and areas that equipment cannot reach, as needed
· Follow assigned routes and site maps, prioritizing areas according to customer contracts
· Perform daily pre- and post-shift equipment inspections and basic maintenance (fluids, cutting edges, hydraulics, lights), and report mechanical issues promptly
· Operate carefully to avoid damage to curbs, landscaping, buildings, and vehicles; report and document any damage or hazards immediately
· Record service times, completed sites, and materials used, including photos when required
· Communicate with the foreman or dispatch on progress, delays, and site conditions
· Follow all safety procedures and wear required PPE
· Assist with seasonal equipment setup, cleanup, and storage
· Assist with any other duties as assigned
Schedule & Availability:
· On call throughout the snow season, approximately [November through April]
· Must be available nights, weekends, and holidays, and able to report within [60 minutes] of a call-out
· Work often begins in the early morning hours so sites are clear before customers open
· Shifts may be extended during major storms, with rest breaks scheduled by the foreman
Basic Requirements:
· Valid driver's license with a clean driving record that meets company insurance requirements
· Experience operating plow trucks, skid loaders, or loaders [one or more seasons preferred]
· Ability to read site maps and follow routes and verbal and written instructions
· Basic computer, smartphone, and written/verbal communication skills
· Reliable transportation and dependable attendance during snow events
· Physical ability to shovel snow for up to several hours continuously
Preferred Qualifications:
· Commercial snow removal experience on industrial or large commercial properties
· Basic mechanical knowledge of trucks, plows, and hydraulic equipment
· Snow and ice management training, such as SIMA (Snow & Ice Management Association) certification
