Job Description - Equipment Planner


Objective of job:



  • Design and implement production equipment and/or processes, as well as it's integration into the plant production sequences; responsible for developing and linking several pieces of equipment with several processes (in development) OR responsible for the planning, procurement and development of equipment for almost all technology groups (in production).


 


 


Principal activities:



  • Write requirement manuals program specific for the different technologies and machines

  • Ensure full input is supplied from the respective departments. Signoff procedure for the requirements manuals.

  • Procure non-standardized equipment (e.g. in production, etc.) as required

  • Write requirement manuals for all associated tooling

  • Launch the RFQ process for equipment

  • Obtain equipment & tool timing plans, ensure it meets to the project timing.

  • Complete Engineering change requests.

  • Attend pre-acceptance of equipment & tooling, complete associated paperwork.

  • Act as the bridge between the suppliers and plant teams.

  • Ensure Spare part lists are supplied to the maintenance department.

  • Ensure training is defined between plant and supplier.

  • Work within the PLM database and ensure all associated documents are uploaded.

  • Work side by side with process planners to ensure the machine layouts will work within the production cell.

  • Supply machine layouts to the process planners.

  • Track machines & tools in to the plant, and clearly communicate the associated timing plans to the FPLP functions.

  • Provide technical release of equipment for production

  • Ensure the suppliers deliver the machine capability studies are completed by the supplier.

  • Work within the company in calculation machine output per the production needs.

  • Liaison with the suppliers and internal company experts to what is feasible on the respective processes.


 


 


Job Requirements:



  • 1 to 2 years Automotive Industry experience 

  • 1 to 2 years of Project Management skills

  • Engineering Disciplined

  • Good technical knowledge of lean manufacturing, planning and layouts, and continuous improvement tools.
