Equipment Technician

The Equipment Technician is primarily responsible for working alongside other technicians under the Equipment Manager to provide support for the Golf Course and Landscape Departments with their equipment needs.

Daily Duties:

• Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
• Perform repairs on diesel, small gasoline and 2-cycle engines
• Diagnose and repair issues with hydraulic and electrical systems
• Sharpening and grinding reel mowers and rotary mowers with specialty equipment
• Operating acetylene torch, arc welders, and plasma cutter
• Accurately record work performed via work order forms
• Operates lifts, lift tables, hydraulic hose machine, drill press, various saws and grinders
• Must be able to operate various mowers, construction equipment, and utility vehicles (some units with standard transmission)

Ongoing Duties:

• Attends job related skill set and safety training.
• Pass certification test within the first year
• Reports unsafe conditions and situations that warrant attention to the Equipment Manager immediately or as soon as is practical.
• Performs all other duties deemed by management to be an integral part of the job.

Skills/Knowledge/Attributes:

• Mechanical background is preferred
• Provide own tools within the first year
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a team oriented work environment
• High attention for detail

Experience/Education:

• High school diploma or proven record of being able to keep and maintain a job

Required License(s):

• Possess a valid driver's license
