ES Floor Technician

 Performs housekeeping/laundry duties in assigned areas in accordance with established cleanliness standards. Cleans furniture and equipment, sanitizes required areas, cleans public areas, and collects/disposes of trash.  Operates laundry equipment, sorts soiled linen, delivers and stocks linen, maintains linen inventory. Available as required on weekends and holidays. Must be a team player and exercise the core values of the Sisters of Charity Mission Statement: Respect, Honesty and Excellence.  

This role is primarily located in our Wellness Center, but may also float between the Wellness Center and our Health Center.

. Cleans, mops and sanitizes rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas so that health standards are met. 

2. Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and/or draperies, using vacuum cleaners and/or shampooers.

3. Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas. 

4.Dust and polish furniture and equipment. 

5.Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy. 

6. Replenish supplies such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items.

7. Works independently and as a team to accomplish tasks and ensure the facility is kept at a high level of cleanliness. Interacts with other departments when necessary to enhance work flow. 

8. Responsible for cleanliness and storage of chemicals in locked compartment and custody of assigned keys. 

9. Knows where to obtain information regarding chemicals, follows direction in use and care of chemicals and equipment.

10. Responds to emergency clean-ups, moves light furniture, cleans glass, and and sets up for meetings, special events and other tasks as required. 

11.Communicates with supervisor conditions needing maintenance. 

12.Recognizes and adheres to policy and procedure regarding residents rights. 

13. Adheres to all safety precautions and reports to supervisor or appropriate personnel, any unsafe conditions. 

14.Operates laundry equipment, sorts soiled linen, delivers and stocks linen, maintains linen inventory, and maintains laundry area in a clean and orderly fashion. 

• High School diploma or GED
• 6 months of institutional cleaning experience
• Knowledge of laundry equipment
