Job Description - Estate & Business Planning Attorney (3 - 7 Years)

Estate & Business Planning Attorney


Koley Jessen offers our clients the region’s largest team of attorneys and paralegals dedicated exclusively to the areas of estate planning and administration, business succession planning, charitable planning, and related areas of the law.  We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our team.


We hope to find an attorney with experience:



  • Consulting with and advising clients on estate planning, business succession planning, wealth transfer planning, charitable planning, estate and trust administration, tax planning, liquidity planning, asset protection planning and related work;

  • Drafting documents to implement all such planning;

  • Preparing federal estate and gift tax returns (including complex reporting and valuation issues); and

  • Assisting clients in the establishment of private foundations and other charitable vehicles.


The ideal candidate would possess:



  • 3 - 7 years of legal experience, with significant exposure to estate, succession and tax planning for high net worth clientele.

  • Knowledge of estate tax, gift tax, generation-skipping transfer tax, income tax and corporate / partnership tax.

  • Experience with more advanced estate, charitable and wealth transfer planning techniques.

  • Ability to efficiently research tax and legal matters, draft documents, issue spot, develop and propose solutions.

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, keen attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Applicants must currently be licensed, or currently eligible to become licensed, to practice law in Nebraska.
