Job Opportunity: Estate Planner at Southern Farm Bureau Life Insurance

As an Estate Planner, you’ll be an essential part of our Advanced Markets and Sales Support team, contributing to the success of our organization.


Location: Virginia


Role and Responsibilities: The Estate Planner will assist the agents in their efforts to sell life insurance and annuity products through joint work and technical support.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Conduct individual client sales interviews with Farm Bureau agents within territory.

  • Train and educate Farm Bureau agents in territory on sales, product and technical topics through agency, district and statewide meetings.

  • Serve as the primary resource for Farm Bureau agents in territory for all things life insurance and annuity related.

  • Maintain a high level of expertise in advanced life insurance and annuity sales and strategies related to basic needs, estate planning, retirement planning and business continuation planning.

  • Build and maintain a strong working relationship with all Farm Bureau agents in territory as well as District Sales Managers, Associate State Sales Director(s) and State Sales Manager.

  • Report activity each week as directed and maintain an accurate and up-to-date calendar.

  • Communicate activity and schedule with Home Office personnel as directed as well as District Sales Managers, Associate State Sales Director(s) and State Sales Manager.


 


Qualifications:



  • Bachelors degree or 5 year experience as an agent with successful track record of qualifying for incentive trips

  • One industry/professional designations (i.e. FSCP, CLU, ChFC, CFP) or an advanced degree (i.e. MBA, J.D.)

  • Two years of life insurance sales experience (an emphasis in estate and business planning is preferred) or two years of comparable experience

  • Good relationship skills

  • Good public speaking skills

  • Self-starter motivated

  • Good sales skills

  • Ability to function effectively in the workplace as exhibited through one's integrity, courage to act and communication skills

  • Ability to work with others effectively as exhibited through one's respect for people and commitment to teamwork

  • Ability to meet organizational goals and customer expectations as exhibited through one's accountability for results, commitment to service and initiative

  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as exhibited through one's growth in job knowledge and professional development
