Estimator

Our client, a well-established above-ground civil contractor specializing in steel and concrete projects, is seeking their first dedicated Estimator to join their growing team. This company handles large-scale projects ranging from $500,000 to $10 million, such as manufacturing plants and factories, with all ground and underground work subcontracted. Responsibilities

• Develop and prepare accurate estimates for public projects ranging from $500,000 to $10 million.
• Work closely with project managers and leadership to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
• Evaluate project requirements and analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation.
• Utilize the current estimation spreadsheet or recommend and deploy an off-the-shelf solution to enhance efficiency.
• Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain cost-effective quotes.
• Maintain an organized workflow and help streamline the estimation process to support the project pipeline.

Desired Qualifications

• Proven experience estimating steel and ironworker-involved projects with an above-ground civil contractor (preferred).
• Experience with large commercial contractors and the ability to transition to above-ground civil projects (acceptable with training).
• At least 5-7 years of stable employment at current or previous employers.
• Strong understanding of the estimation process and familiarity with tools for creating accurate bids.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work full-time, in-office near the Tacoma location.
