Estimator

Purpose:

Prepare cost estimates for projects to aid in bidding and determining the price of products and services. 

Job Description

• Responsible for the estimation of all costs of projects, including raw materials, labor, equipment, tools, and transportation.
• Responsible for the collection, classification, and analysis of historical data.
• May be required to read blueprints or architectural drawings to determine necessary resources for projects within budgetary constraints.
• Helps determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates and budgetary constraints.
• Perform bid sheet preparation (Excel), solicit subcontractor proposals, advertisements as needed, take-offs, attend pre-bid walks.
• Identify qualified subcontractors/suppliers.
• Review quotes for completeness with plans and specifications
• Assist with timely completion of all client-required prequal packages
• Review subcontractor proposals prior to contract issuance for complete work scopes.
• Assist field personnel with estimating Change Orders, RFPs, and clarification of RFI’s.
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and buy-outs
