We have an immediate opening for an experienced Estimator to join our company in Santa Clara, CA.
Estimator Responsibilities:
Manages customer request for quotation (RFQ) inquires, reviews quotes, and collects the necessary information to begin an estimation such as: drawings, material pricing, component pricing, and outside cost pricing
Reviews customer blue prints, specifications, and all relevant data to determine material and labor requirements
Collaborates with the Manufacturing and Engineering departments to assess the company’s readiness to perform product design and provides accurate and realistic estimates to customers
Estimates labor, material, processing, and other costs of manufacturing/engineering based on the request for proposal data submitted by customers
Computes cost factors and prepares estimates used for planning, organizing, scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors and determining cost effectiveness
Reviews material and labor requirements to determine whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components
Education/Experience:
A. /B.S. in Business OR 5 – 10 years of experience in purchasing, estimating, machine shop environment, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Qualifications:
Must interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
Advanced knowledge of pricing and materials needed to complete CNC programming, manual machining, mill, and lathe machining activities
Understanding of the processes and delivery lead times required for manufacturing parts
Extremely detail-oriented and thorough in making sure all contractual obligations at time of RFQ are understood and accounted for
