Evangelization Coordinator

St. John LaLande Catholic Church is seeking a passionate, faith-filled disciple to help shape the future of our Catholic community. This leader will assist our Pastor in the missionary transformation of our parish.  We are looking for someone who doesn't just want a job, but a mission - a mission to help us move from maintenance to growth.  

As our Evangelization Coordinator, you will be the catalyst for creating a "Path of Discipleship", helping parishioners move from merely attending to deeply encountering Jesus Christ.  This role is perfect for a self-starter who loves building relationships, mentoring volunteers and discovering creative ways to connect with everyone - from devoted parishioners to those who may feel on the margins.

This is a part-time role of about 10-20 hours per week, with some flexibility needed for evening and weekend activities.

Core Purpose:  To promote the mission to evangelize and catechize active parishioners, inactive parishioners and all searchers and seekers of Jesus Christ.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the Pastor to develop and maintain an intentional path for parishioners to deepen their encounter with Christ.
• Identify, recruit and coach volunteer leaders for evangelization initiatives.
• Oversee the welcoming process for newcomers and community outreach.
• Partner with media staff to create an evangelizing strategy via social media, the parish bulletin and digital platforms.

Basic Qualifications:

• Practicing Catholic with ethical standards, personal integrity, and conduct consistent with the morals and teachings of the Catholic Church.
• Passionate about the Church, Religious Education, and building relationships.
• Complete and maintain diocesan safe environment expectations.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
