Job Description - Events (Planning) Internship (January - March 2025)

Winter Internship Opportunity – Events (Planning) Internship (January 2025 – March 2025)

The John Michael Kohler Arts Center, a nationally acclaimed visual and performing arts complex located in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, is seeking an Events Intern from January-March 2025.

The Intern will work closely with the Events Hospitality Coordinator to plan and execute Arts Center sponsored special events, including the 2025 Gala. Specific areas of focus depend on departmental needs and the intern’s skills and interests.

Responsibilities:

Deliver exceptional customer service to a wide variety of clientele and visitors
Assist with planning, setting up, and managing facility rentals and special events
Lead beverage service area of events by ordering supplies, setting up, and working alongside staff and volunteers on event nights
Organize and order supplies, and help with setup and cleanup for the Gala
Assist with planning, setting up and managing areas for the Gala
Complete research related to special events and rentals as directed
Frequently move supplies weighing up to 50 pounds

Qualifications:

Strong communication and organizational skills
Commitment to being a team player
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work with people of all ages and backgrounds
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
Valid Driver License

Winter 2025 Internship Dates
January 6 – March 10, 2025, up to 29 hours a week, including nights and weekends. The position works at various locations depending on the schedule. This position must be able to commute between locations if needed.
This is a paid internship. Interns may also be eligible to receive course credit for this internship through their school, but it is the intern's responsibility to pursue this option through their school or university.
