Responsible for setting up the production line, pre-chillers, and chillers at the beginning of each shift, oversee production functions of chiller and other necessary equipment and machinery in the assigned department within required guidelines, and monitors and documents all chemical levels in a timely manner as per the company’s policy.

Key Responsibilities
•Set up the line and chillers in the morning. Position is required to start earlier than the stated department time to have necessary equipment running in time for startup.
•Supply ice where needed within the department.
•Maintain chillers throughout the day, performing periodic data collections such as checks for water temperatures and levels.
•Rework birds as needed, use hose to wash down appropriate work areas.
•Maintain various equipment including monitoring, adjusting, and reporting needed repairs.
•Weigh parts and report numbers in a timely manner.
•Prime, adjust, and maintain chemical pumps for the bird chillers.
•Take water samples at the bird chillers to verify the water chemistry is within acceptable limits.
•Document all chemical levels per daily schedule and complete all required paperwork.
•Adheres to all USDA and GMP (Good Manufacturing Processes) product standards and guidelines.
•Starts and stops chillers as needed.
•Cleans overflow box screens.
•Monitors all aspects of the chiller rooms.
•Monitors SSOP’s and SPS’s.
•Maintains a clean and organized work area.
•Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications (Education & Experience)
•High School Diploma or related preferred
Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
•Working knowledge of Chiller Chemicals (Micro-Tox) Peracetic Acid & (Nutra-Chill) Caustic.
•Communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions & policies.
•Work at line speed upon completion of training period.
•Perform physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Essential Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
•Previous experience working in a food manufacturing environment
•Basic knowledge of Maintenance and Machinery
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand more than 8 hours a day, lift, carry, push or pull (up to and including 50lbs or more), reach overhead (up to and including 25lbs), operate hand held and/or mechanical machinery, walk/climb stairs, grip, grasp, and twist using hands and wrists, bend and stoop for long periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Working Conditions
•Work is performed in a food processing plant with a high noise level, storage coolers/facilities.
•Position requires working around processing plant equipment.
•Must be physically capable of working extended hours, overtime, holidays, and weekends if needed and in varying elements that could include damp, cold, wet, hot or warm environment, standing for long periods of time.
•Work with or around chemicals/fumes/unpleasant scents.
•This position requires individuals to wear and work in personal protective equipment while in the manufacturing environment.
•The noise level of the office environment is usually moderate; the noise level in the manufacturing environment may exceed 85 DBA and require hearing protection.
