EVOC Instructor - Hanford Patrol Training Academy

FRAME Technical Services is seeking qualified Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) Instructors to support driver-awareness training at the Hanford Patrol Training Academy (PTA) in Richland, Washington. The position will provide classroom instruction and hands-on, in-vehicle coaching for Hanford Site personnel and other authorized customers.

Position Responsibilities

The EVOC Instructor will provide classroom and behind-the-wheel instruction focused on safe vehicle operation, accident avoidance, and driver awareness. Responsibilities include:

• Provide classroom instruction and in-vehicle coaching.


• Demonstrate and instruct EVOC driving techniques, including auto cross, backing, parallel parking, forward and reverse serpentine, skid-car control, accident avoidance, emergency lane changes, and apex cornering.


• Apply adult-learning principles and effective instructional techniques.


• Conduct required safety briefings and explain emergency-stop procedures.


• Ensure students comply with EVOC safety requirements, including seatbelt, helmet, and other applicable PPE requirements.


• Serve as a Lead Instructor/Safety Officer when assigned.


• Complete required course documentation and attendance records.


• Support periodic review and revision of EVOC training curriculum as requested.

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet all of the following requirements:

• Possess a certificate of completion from an EVOC Instructor Course provided by one of the following:
  
  
  
  • Tri-City Regional EVOC Instruction Group
  
  
  • Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission (WA-CJTC)
  
  
  • Washington State Patrol
  
  
  
  


• Minimum one year of EVOC working experience and subject-matter knowledge.


• Must have instructed EVOC courses within the previous 24 months.


• Ability to successfully demonstrate required EVOC driving skills during a driving evaluation conducted by the Hanford Patrol Training Academy EVOC Program Manager.


• Strong classroom presentation and hands-on coaching skills.


• Ability to work effectively with adult learners and students with varying levels of driving experience.


• Ability to comply with Hanford/PTA safety requirements and maintain required training and certifications.

Work Schedule

Position Type: As-needed / intermittent instructor support
Schedule: Training assignments will be based on course demand. Hanford's standard work schedule is generally Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.; actual instructor hours will be coordinated based on scheduled classes.

A Hanford Site badge is not normally required for this work, and the position does not require a security clearance.
