Executive Chef

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and professional Executive Chef to join our team on a one-year contract basis, with the possibility of an extension. This position involves providing culinary services for an executive's primary residence. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive, with exceptional communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Private household experience is highly recommended.  

Responsibilities  

• Menu Planning and Food Preparation: Plan menus, purchase ingredients, prepare, and serve meals for the primary residence, ensuring all dietary requirements of family members are met.  
• Special Events: Prepare meals for private dinners and special events held at the primary residence.  
• On-Call Catering: Provide on-call catering services as needed, whether at the residence or at different venues.  

• Proven experience as a Chef in a similar position, preferably in a hotel setting and private household.  
• Comprehensive understanding of various cooking methods, regional cuisines, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.  
• Minimum of two (2) years of industry experience within a recognized food service establishment.  
• Ability to handle emergency situations with accuracy and speed, providing effective solutions.  
• Familiarity with industry, best practices, basic computational ability, and basic computer skills.  
• Culinary certification is a plus.  

Benefits 

• Reimbursement for health insurance premiums at a rate equal to the lesser of 75% or $8,500. 
• Coverage for New York State Unemployment Insurance, New York Disability Insurance, and Workers Compensation Insurance. 
• Applicable Social Security Tax (FICA) will be deducted from the employee's pay. 
• Federal Income Tax, New York State, and New York City withholding tax, as appropriate, will be deducted from the employee’s salary. 

Conditions of Employment 

1. Must be able to obtain and maintain a clearance. 
2. U.S. Citizenship is required. 
3. Verification of employment eligibility in the United States is required.
