Job Description - Exercise Physiologist (PRN) | Cardiac Rehab

Miami Valley Hospital North\n\nExercise Physiologist (PRN) - Cardiac Rehab\n\n * PRN: 7:00am-3:30pm (days vary)\n\n\n\nSummary\n\nThe Exercise Physiologist (Cardiac Rehabilitation) assumes a dynamic leadership role on the interdisciplinary patient care teams. This individual identifies patient care needs, develops a plan of care and goals in collaboration with the patient, provides care within the scope of practice, provides education and support to patients/families, and facilitates continuing care planning.\n\nThe EP participates in staff management, cost management, and professional practice activities. The EP is responsible for demonstrating excellent customer service and contributing to the overall effectiveness of the department.\n\nEssential Duties \u0026 Functions\n\n * Evaluates, educates, treats, documents, delegates, and discharges patients per service guidelines.\n * Engages in interdisciplinary patient care management.\n * Bills appropriately for services provided as indicated through matching of documentation and service charges.\n * Provides patient/family education.\n * Participates in programs/service performance improvement activities.\n * Manages case load per department standards.\n * Engages in patient satisfaction efforts and looks for opportunities to ensure that all patients have a satisfying experience.\n * Passes all required hospital/department competencies and related testing; applies to everyday performance.\n\n\n\nEducation:\n\n * Bachelor\u0027s in Exercise Physiology or related field required, Master\u0027s preferred\n * Area of study or major: Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation\n\n\n\nLicensure/Certification/Registration:\n\n * Current BLS certification required at time of hire.\n * ACLS required at time of hire\n\n\n\nExperience\n\n * Minimum Level of Experience Required: 1 - 3 years of job-related experience\n * Preferred experience: 1-3 years of job-related experience.\n * Other experience requirements: Cardiac or Pulmonary Rehabilitation\n\n\n\nKnowledge/Skills\n\n * Able to multi-task with constant interruptions while maintaining a pleasant demeanor.\n * Dependable, flexible, and adaptable to change.\n * Teamwork oriented. Display tact, diplomacy, and professionalism.\n * Strong analytical, prioritization, and organizational skills.\n * Effective oral and written communication skills.\n * Maintain a high degree of confidentiality.\n * Basic computer knowledge and skills\n\n\n\nOrganizational Standards\n\n * Possess skills, knowledge, and abilities to reach the mission, vision, and values of Premier Health.\n * Demonstrates traits and behaviors including, but not limited to, Focusing on Patients/Customers, Walking the Talk, Being a Partner, Adding Skills/Abilities, Working Independently for all staff and Managing in a Changing Environment, Engaging the Workforce, and Managing \u0026 Improving Individual Performance for Management Staff.\n * Performs in such a way to honor our values of Respect, Integrity, Compassion, and Excellence.\n * Provides a positive and professional representation of the organization.\n * Promotes a culture of safety for patients and employees through proper identification, reporting, documentation, and prevention.\n * Maintains hospital standards for a clean and quiet patient environment to maintain a positive patient care experience.\n * Maintains competency and knowledge of current standards of practice, trends, and developments in related scope of job role or practice.\n * Adheres to infection prevention policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.\n * Participates in ongoing quality improvement activities.\n * Maintains compliance with organization\u2019s policies, as well as established practices, protocols, and procedures of the position, department, and applicable professional standards.\n * Complies with organizational and regulatory policies for handling confidential patient information.\n * Demonstrates excellent customer service through his/her attitude and actions, consistent with the standards contained in the Vision, Mission, and Values of the organization.\n * Adheres to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and TJC standards and/or standards from other accrediting bodies.\n * Reports to work as required.\n\n\n
