POSITION:
The Expediter serves as the critical operational bridge between the kitchen and front-of-house teams, ensuring all dishes meet strict presentation, cleanliness, and garnishing standards before service. Operating at an elevated level above a traditional window attendant, this role requires deep menu mastery and seamless communication to orchestrate the precise flow and sequencing of orders. To succeed, candidates must maintain absolute organization and a calm demeanor within a fast-paced, high-pressure culinary environment.
This position is part of an exciting new restaurant concept opening within our resort in mid-August 2026. Official start dates are expected to be finalized in early August.
This position requires some nights, weekends, and holidays.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as the primary communication bridge between kitchen (BOH) and front-of-house (FOH) personnel to ensure seamless service flow.
- Orchestrate the sequencing and organization of tickets to ensure dishes are delivered to the correct tables in the proper order.
- Monitor food preparation times to ensure entire table orders are completed and served simultaneously.
- Direct and coordinate the movement of food runners and service staff at the expo window.
- Manage the pacing of the window to maintain proper food temperature and prevent bottlenecks during peak hours.
- Inspect every plate for cleanliness, correct portions, and adherence to established culinary presentation standards before delivery.
- Manage the preparation, replenishment, and precise application of garnishes for all outgoing dishes.
- Verify that special dietary requests, allergies, and modifications are accurately executed by the kitchen and communicated to servers.
- Reject any dishes that do not meet quality, temperature, or presentation standards and coordinate immediate corrections with the line.
- Maintain a thorough, up-to-date knowledge of all menu items, ingredients, preparation methods, and presentation layouts.
- Maintain an absolute calm, focused, and professional demeanor under high-pressure, fast-paced conditions.
- Keep the expediting station clean, sanitized, stocked, and highly organized throughout the entire shift.
- Resolve ticket discrepancies and timing conflicts quickly and directly with kitchen leadership and floor managers.
Due to changing operational demands and the need to exceed customer expectations, it may be necessary to undertake various functions that are not specifically related to this position. This individual may be required to carry out additional tasks and duties as needed or as directed. Additionally, employee responsibilities and job descriptions are subject to review and modification.

- Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in a high-volume restaurant environment, preferably in an elevated service role or a fast-paced window attendant position.
- Thorough, comprehensive knowledge of food safety, sanitation standards, and proper plate presentation.
- Deep menu mastery, including the ability to rapidly memorize and understand ingredients, preparations, allergens, and specific modifications.
- Possession of, or the ability to quickly obtain, required local food handler certifications.
- Previous experience working in a resort, wellness center, or high-end hospitality environment is preferred but not required.
- Clear, assertive, and respectful verbal communication skills to effectively direct both front-of-house and back-of-house teams.
- Proven ability to maintain emotional control, focus, and a professional demeanor under intense, fast-paced, and high-pressure conditions.
- Strong active listening skills to accurately capture and convey modifications or special guest requests between teams.
- A collaborative, team-oriented mindset with the confidence to manage the flow of food runners and service staff.
- Sufficient manual dexterity to precisely handle, prep, and apply delicate garnishes.
- Strong visual acuity to inspect plates for cleanliness, presentation defects, and strict quality control standards.
- High level of organizational skill and mental stamina to manage multiple moving parts, tickets, and tables simultaneously.
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Reliability, punctuality, and professional communication skills are critical.
- Ability to work under pressure with a high level of patience and customer service.
- CPR and first aid certification a plus and /or the willingness to be trained.
- The position requires manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, the ability to follow written and verbal instructions and procedures, and the capacity to communicate effectively and professionally.
