Experienced Distribution Center Supervisor - Torrance

SUMMARY

The DC Supervisor is responsible for assisting the DC Manager oversee the distribution and operational functions within the organization.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other special projects and duties may be assigned.

• Oversee all distribution activities from receipt of goods to shipping, including daily staffing and workflow optimization to meet or surpass customer expectations.

• WMS/ERP experience; including daily monitoring, troubleshooting and continuous improvement recommendations

• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements while coordinating these efforts with the DC Manager

• Coordinates project management efforts as related to area of responsibility as necessary

• Assists with building maintenance and improvements as well as repair or replacement equipment.

• Responsible for personnel planning, development and management

• Ensures adherence in all departments pertaining to company policy and procedures as well as implementation of company initiatives.

• Reviews and takes action on internal audit reports and KPI reporting associated with area of responsibility

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages employees in the Distribution Center. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this area. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, organizing, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university; and five years of  related experience ; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
