The ideal candidate will have extensive experience diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding Ford automatic and manual transmissions, along with a strong commitment to quality workmanship and customer satisfaction. Ford certification is required, but experienced transmission technicians with a proven track record are encouraged to apply.

Transmission Technician Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair Ford automatic and manual transmission systems


• Perform transmission overhauls, rebuilds, replacements, and related driveline repairs


• Use Ford diagnostic equipment and service information to accurately identify concerns


• Complete warranty and customer-pay repairs according to Ford standards


• Perform road tests to verify concerns and ensure repairs are completed properly


• Inspect and diagnose driveline, transfer case, differential, and related components


• Maintain accurate documentation of diagnostic findings and repairs performed


• Communicate effectively with Service Advisors and Shop Foremen regarding repair recommendations and completion timelines


• Stay current on Ford technical service bulletins, recalls, and repair procedures


• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area

Qualifications

• Previous Ford dealership experience preferred


• Ford transmission experience required


• Ford STST or Senior Master Certification preferred


• ASE certifications are a plus


• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills


• Experience with Ford IDS, FDRS, and diagnostic equipment preferred


• High school diploma or equivalent


• Excellent mechanical aptitude and attention to detail


• Strong work ethic and ability to work in a fast-paced environment


• Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset


• Ability to learn new technology, repair procedures, and manufacturer specifications


• Valid driver's license and clean driving record


• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check
