Experienced Transmission Technician

Airport Marina Ford is hiring an experienced Automotive Transmission Technician to join our high-volume Ford service department in Los Angeles, CA. We are looking for a skilled Transmission Mechanic with strong experience in automatic and manual transmission diagnostics, repair, and rebuilding — preferably with Ford vehicles.

This is a critical role within our service team, responsible for advanced drivetrain diagnostics and ensuring vehicles are repaired to manufacturer standards.

Key Responsibilities

• 
  

  Perform advanced transmission diagnostics using scan tools and road testing

  
  


• 
  

  Diagnose and repair automatic and manual transmissions

  
  


• 
  

  Remove, disassemble, inspect, rebuild, and reinstall transmission systems

  
  


• 
  

  Repair or replace clutches, torque converters, valve bodies, seals, and internal components

  
  


• 
  

  Perform transmission fluid services, flushes, filter replacements, and reseals

  
  


• 
  

  Conduct pre- and post-repair road tests to verify proper operation

  
  


• 
  

  Accurately document repair orders and communicate findings with Service Advisors

  
  


• 
  

  Follow Ford factory repair procedures, labor operations, and torque specifications

  
  


• 
  

  Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

  
  


• 
  

  Stay current with Ford technical bulletins and training programs

  
  

Qualifications

• 
  

  Minimum 2+ years of experience in transmission repair and drivetrain diagnostics

  
  


• 
  

  Experience as a Transmission Technician, Automotive Technician, or Drivetrain Specialist

  
  


• 
  

  Ford certification or manufacturer training preferred

  
  


• 
  

  Strong understanding of automatic, manual, and electronic transmission systems

  
  


• 
  

  Ability to interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic data

  
  


• 
  

  Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills

  
  


• 
  

  High school diploma or equivalent

  
  


• 
  

  Valid driver’s license with clean driving record

  Must pass background check and drug screening
