Help Children Heal Through Play—Without Sacrificing Your Own Well-Being

Why This Position Is In Person

This is primarily an in-person position because Experiential Play Therapy relies on hands-on activities, movement, creativity, play, and face-to-face connection.

Our therapists work directly with children and families in a therapeutic environment designed to support engagement, emotional expression, and healing. This model cannot be delivered effectively through fully remote care.

What Is Experiential Play Therapy?

Children do not always have the words to explain what they are feeling, but they often communicate naturally through play.

Our therapists use experiential and play-based approaches to help children:

  • Process difficult experiences

  • Build emotional regulation skills

  • Strengthen relationships with caregivers

  • Develop confidence and coping skills

  • Create meaningful and lasting change

You will receive training and support in working with children and families through trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate, and relationship-focused care.

Flexible Scheduling Options

Our therapists have flexibility when building schedules that support both their lives and the needs of the families they serve.

Schedule options may include:

  • Four 10-hour days

  • Five 8-hour days

  • Optional weekend appointments

Weekend work is not required.

What You Will Do

  • Provide individual and family therapy to children, adolescents, and caregivers

  • Use experiential, play-based, and trauma-informed interventions

  • Develop individualized treatment plans

  • Complete clinical documentation accurately and on time

  • Collaborate with caregivers and other members of the treatment team

  • Participate in supervision, consultation, and ongoing training

  • Maintain ethical, professional, and licensing standards

  • Support children and families in building skills, strengthening relationships, and creating lasting change

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for therapists who:

  • Enjoy working with children and families

  • Value creativity, play, connection, and relationship-based care

  • Want to continue developing their clinical skills

  • Are open to feedback, supervision, and ongoing learning

  • Can balance compassion with strong professional boundaries

  • Want to be part of a collaborative and supportive team

Newly licensed clinicians are encouraged to apply.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, marriage and family therapy, art therapy, or another qualifying behavioral health field

  • Active or eligible New Mexico clinical license, including:

    • LPCC

    • LCSW

    • LMFT

  • Ability to provide in-person services

  • Interest in working with children and families

  • Ability to complete required documentation and maintain professional standards

Compensation

Compensation is based on license level, experience, and qualifications.

  • Non-independently licensed therapists: $40–$45 per clinical hour

  • Independently licensed therapists: $55–$60 per clinical hour

Paid administrative time and paid supervision are provided in accordance with position expectations.
