Job Description - Expert Production Scheduler - Germantown, WI

\nJob Title: Expert Production Scheduler \nLocation: Germantown, WI\n\n \n \n\n\nWe are looking for an experienced Expert Production Scheduler who has operated in high\u2011complexity, highly constrained manufacturing environments, where one wrong sequencing decision can impact service, quality, or plant stability. This is not a standard production scheduling role. This role sits at the center of short\u2011term execution and requires sound judgement, strong system mastery (SAP / OMP), and real factory influence. You will be expected to make difficult trade\u2011off decisions, protect schedule integrity under pressure, and balance assertiveness with flexibility in a low\u2011tolerance operating environment. \n \n\n\nYour Key Responsibilities:\n\n\u2022 1) Advanced Short\u2011Term Finite Scheduling\n\n * Convert supply plans into fully executable daily and weekly schedules for production and tolling operations. \n * Integrate all constraints: capacity, equipment availability, cleaning/changeover matrix, QA/QC timing, and maintenance windows.\n * Maintain an optimized schedule that maximizes line efficiency and minimizes disruptions.\n * Actively identify conflicts and propose feasible alternative scenarios\u2014not just execute system outputs.\n * Continuously evaluate schedule performance and stability, adjusting rapidly to deviations.\n * This role requires making trade\u2011off decisions when no perfect solution exists, balancing competing constraints while protecting overall schedule integrity.\n\n\n\n2) Material Availability \u0026 Readiness\n\n * Ensure all raw materials, intermediates, packaging, and critical components are available for execution. \n * Work proactively with procurement and warehouse to avoid shortages or delays.\n * Escalate risks early and provide mitigation or re\u2011sequencing options.\n\n\n\n3) Inventory Management\n\n * Monitor finished goods, intermediates, and raw material inventory levels. \n * Align production and replenishment decisions with inventory policies (safety stock, reorder points, min/max levels). \n * Support MRB (Material Review Board) and slow/obsolete inventory management activities.\n\n\n\n4) Supply Risk Management\n\n * Identify supply constraints or bottlenecks (capacity, materials, logistics, tolling delays). \n * Escalate risks and implement contingency plans to protect customer service and continuity of supply.\n\n\n\n5) Customer Service \u0026 Order Support\n\n * Support customer service and sales teams during backorder reviews and allocation decisions. \n * Communicate supply risks proactively to internal stakeholders.\n * Provide realistic Available\u2011to\u2011Promise (ATP) dates based on supply constraints and schedule feasibility.\n\n\n\n6) Influential Cross\u2011Functional Coordination\n\n * Act as the central communication bridge between Planning and Operations (Production, QA/QC, Warehouse, Maintenance, Procurement, Customer Care). \n * Demonstrate judgement in stakeholder management:\n\n\n * Assertive and firm when priorities must be protected.\n * Flexible and collaborative when rapid adjustments are needed.\n\n\n * Drive alignment in daily/weekly operational meetings.\n * The Scheduler is the owner of short\u2011term execution decisions and is expected to stand behind priorities, escalations, and outcomes.\n\n\n\n8) System \u0026 Master Data Expertise\n\n * Maintain accurate SAP/OMP data, including planning parameters and scheduling inputs.\n * Utilize advanced system features for scenario analysis and constraint\u2011based scheduling.\n * Build and maintain reporting dashboards to enhance visibility and planning accuracy.\n\n\n\n9) KPI Tracking \u0026 Continuous Improvement\n\n * Track and enhance key performance measures: OTIF, supply plan adherence, inventory accuracy, material availability, schedule stability. \n * Conduct root-cause analysis for schedule misses or supply issues.\n * Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives to improve scheduling efficiency and reduce firefighting.\n\n\n\n \n \n \nWe Offer:\n\n\u2022 A strong sense of accountability \u2013 you take initiative, speak up, and see things through. Proven ability to manage scheduling in heavily constrained, low tolerance settings. \n\u2022 Demonstrated ownership and ability to independently run the short-term scheduling process. \n\u2022 Strong knowledge of SAP and/or OMP; not beginner level.\n\n\u2022. High proficiency in Excel and planning analytics. \n\u2022 Solid understanding of batch production, changeovers, cleaning cycles, QA release, and capacity modeling. \n\u2022 Exceptional attention to detail with low error tolerance.\n\n\u2022 Strong communication and stakeholder management\u2014able to push back constructively.\n\n\u2022 High resilience and ability to operate under frequent changes.\n\n\u2022 Analytical, structured, and proactive problem solver.\n\n\u2022 Demonstrated bias for action and ownership mindset. \n \n \n \n\n\nThe salary scale provided reflects the pay range dsm-firmenich expects to pay the successful candidate for the position. Individual pay offered will be based on the applicant\u2019s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, or training, and primary work location. The salary range is $99,999 to $101,400. \n\nIn addition to base salary, we also offer a comprehensive total rewards package, inclusive of annual incentive pay, a retirement savings plan, health care coverage, paid time off, recognition programs and a broad range of other benefits.
