Express Lube Technician
Position Summary
The Express Lube Technician performs routine vehicle maintenance services quickly, accurately, and safely while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in automotive service and provides opportunities for training and advancement within the dealership.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform oil and filter changes according to manufacturer and dealership standards.
- Complete tire rotations, tire pressure checks, and basic tire inspections.
- Inspect and replace air filters, cabin filters, windshield wiper blades, and other maintenance items as needed.
- Perform multi-point vehicle inspections and accurately document findings.
- Check and top off vehicle fluids, including coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer fluid.
- Inspect batteries, belts, hoses, lights, and other basic vehicle components.
- Recommend additional maintenance or repairs by reporting inspection results to the service advisor.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Properly use and maintain shop equipment and tools.
- Follow all dealership safety policies, environmental regulations, and manufacturer procedures.
- Complete repair orders accurately and efficiently.
- Assist with additional shop duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous automotive experience is helpful but not required; training is provided.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
- Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and automotive chemicals.
- Manual dexterity to safely operate tools and equipment.
