Express Lube Technician

Position Summary

The Express Lube Technician performs routine vehicle maintenance services quickly, accurately, and safely while delivering an exceptional customer experience. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to build a career in automotive service and provides opportunities for training and advancement within the dealership.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform oil and filter changes according to manufacturer and dealership standards.


• Complete tire rotations, tire pressure checks, and basic tire inspections.


• Inspect and replace air filters, cabin filters, windshield wiper blades, and other maintenance items as needed.


• Perform multi-point vehicle inspections and accurately document findings.


• Check and top off vehicle fluids, including coolant, brake fluid, power steering fluid, and windshield washer fluid.


• Inspect batteries, belts, hoses, lights, and other basic vehicle components.


• Recommend additional maintenance or repairs by reporting inspection results to the service advisor.


• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.


• Properly use and maintain shop equipment and tools.


• Follow all dealership safety policies, environmental regulations, and manufacturer procedures.


• Complete repair orders accurately and efficiently.


• Assist with additional shop duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.


• Previous automotive experience is helpful but not required; training is provided.


• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.


• Ability to operate both automatic and manual transmission vehicles is preferred.


• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.


• Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.


• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced team environment.


• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.


• Ability to work in a shop environment with exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and automotive chemicals.


• Manual dexterity to safely operate tools and equipment.
