Eye Clinic Assistant

Summary

Assist the Optometrist/Ophthalmologist by performing the following tasks:

• Support daily clinic operations and administrative tasks. 

• Prepare patients for vision exams and assist with diagnostic testing. 

• Assist providers during laser and surgical procedures. 

• Educate patients on the proper use of contact lenses. 

• Assist with contact lens and orders. 

• Maintain exam room supplies, inventory, and clean clinical instruments and equipment.

Schedule 

• Casual, various weekday shifts, typically 7:00AM to 3:00PM
• No guaranteed hours. Pick up shifts as needed.
• Work more hours during orientation.

Pay 

• Starting pay begins at $25.70 per hour and increases with experience

  • Pay range: $25.70 - $38.57 per hour

   

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical terminology required. 
• Graduate of optometric assistant program preferred.
• One or more years of experience in the field preferred.
• Clear focus on high-quality work and customer service.
• Self-motivated, results oriented with a positive outlook.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to deal with people in a tactful and courteous manner.
• High degree of confidentiality.
• Computer skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Highly developed organizational and time management skills.
