What you’ll do:

The Fabrication Team Lead is a working lead responsible for helping coordinate daily production activities and supporting employees on the shift. This is an entry-level frontline leadership position that works closely with the Senior Fabrication Manager to maintain safe, efficient, and consistent operations. 

General Responsibilities

• Coordinates the people and processes involved in manufacturing.
• Ensures that production meets output and quality goals.
• Uses production data to identify opportunities to use staffing and materials more efficiently.
• Reviews production output for quality and accuracy.
• Ensures compliance with workplace safety programs; identifies hazards early, enforces safety rules, and escalates concerns to management.
• Applies 5S principles in the work area, participates in 5S audits, and drives action plans for improvement.
• Ensures standard operating procedures are followed and kept up to date
• Proactively coordinates with other departments to keep operations aligned.
• Provides daily feedback on shift production and logistical issues to ensure continuity of communication and information between shifts.
• Understands emergency response protocols, ensures the team knows and can follow them, and participates in and supports accountability during drills.
• Performs other job responsibilities as required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Supports cross-training to build team flexibility.
• Maintains accountability for safety, quality, attendance, and performance standards through coaching.
• Documents performance and behavior issues accurately and promptly.

• Possesses strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with upper management, direct reports, and other co-workers.
• Maintains situational awareness of what's happening on the floor (people, process, safety, quality) and intervenes before issues grow.

Computer Equipment and Software

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• ERP Software Experience (Plex preferred).
• Power BI experience preferred.

Education and Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED and/or 3–5 years' experience in a related field.
• Previous experience supporting, training, or coordinating employees in a manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions/Environment:

This position works Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:30pm, unless otherwise agreed upon. Work may occasionally require weekend and/or evening work. While performing the duties of this job, employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles and occasionally moving mechanical parts and vibration. Working conditions are consistent with a typical manufacturing or warehousing environment and are usually moderate to loud in noise level, when on the production floor; quiet to moderate when working in the office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to stand for most of the workday and to perform lifting, bending and twisting. The employee is regularly required to handle and lift up to 20 lbs. and may occasionally or frequently be required to lift up to 50 lbs. The employee is occasionally required to walk and sit.
