  • Our Vision: Touching lives by being the first choice for bargain-minded consumers in the U.S.

  • Our Values & Behaviors: Achievement, Diversity, Entrepreneurship, Family, Fun, Integrity & Service

About the Team:

Our Supply Chain and Logistics team mission is to provide top notch service to our stores and purchasing teams, contributing to the goal to make Grocery Outlet the first choice for bargain minded customers while touching lives for the better. Our team oversees the successful movement of products from our vendors to our stores and is self-motivated, passionate, and dedicated.

About the Role:

Reporting to the VP, Supply Chain Operations, the Facilities & Asset Manager is a newly created key leadership role responsible for overall building and site maintenance, reliability, safety, security and asset protection processes and initiatives across Grocery Outlet’s network of Regional Distribution Centers. This position ensures that our buildings and critical infrastructure operate safely and reliably and keeps our team, visitors and brand safe and secure. In this role, you will be supporting profitable sales in our stores by mitigating shortage risks coming out of our facilities and investigating, preventing and resolving theft and fraud to ensure products are available for our guests. This leader will influence standards, create accountability, and partner closely with DC site operations teams to maintain safe, compliant, and cost-effective environments across all distribution locations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Establish facility maintenance standards, preventative maintenance programs, inspection routines, and documentation requirements across the DC network.

  • Lead the development and execution of site security and theft/fraud prevention programs, including site access controls, CCTV monitoring systems, interior/exterior security measures, and incident response protocols.

  • Partner with Safety, Operations, and Engineering to assess risk, implement risk engineering improvements, and ensure regulatory compliance.

  • Ensure all maintenance, safety, and facilities processes are compliant with OSHA, fire code, food safety regulations (where applicable), and company standards.

  • Oversee inbound/outbound guard shack process to include development and execution of truck seal procedures and SOP’s for personnel to follow.

  • Monitor asset protection performance trends and implement corrective actions as needed.

  • Partner with DC field operations leadership and safety teams to assess building conditions, identify risks and implement corrective measures to improve site safety and employee experience.

  • Oversee installation, repair, upgrades, and general upkeep for building systems, grounds, MHE, and all related infrastructure.

  • Collaborate with Safety and Operations teams to maintain a compliant and effective Power Industrial Truck (PIT) training program.

  • Develop long-range maintenance strategies, capital improvement plans, and equipment lifecycle management practices.

  • Serve as primary owner of third-party facilities services: contract negotiations, ongoing vendor management, performance monitoring, and compliance with MSA terms.

  • Evaluate business cases for insourcing vs. outsourcing site security, guard shack and building maintenance functions; partner with site leadership on hiring and onboarding qualified in-house resources for these functions where needed.

  • Manage facility operating budgets and capital expenditures; track and report against budget expectations across all sites.

  • Oversee procurement of supplies, tools, equipment, and contracted services, ensuring cost-effective and timely delivery.

  • Track, audit, and report on MHE performance metrics including uptime, utilization, productivity rates, and maintenance costs.

  • Lead or participate in safety inspections, audits, and compliance reviews across the network.

  • Participate cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, and business partners to enhance facility reliability, site performance, and operational resilience.

  • Recommend enhancements to existing processes, policies, and systems to support scalability and consistent execution across all locations.

  • Support the development of new capabilities including new DC openings, infrastructure enhancements, automation improvements, and technology upgrades.

  • Base Salary Range: $105,000 - $120,000 Annually

  • Annual Bonus Program

  • Equity

  • 401(k) Profit Sharing

  • Medical, Dental, Vision & More!

  • Final compensation will be determined based upon experience and skills and may vary based on location.

About You:

  • 7–10 years of facility management experience in distribution, logistics, manufacturing, or similar industrial environments.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Operations Management, or related field.

  • Experience managing or supporting automated or semi-automated systems (conveyors, controls, ASRS, sortation preferred).

  • Strong analytical, budgeting, and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues and implement practical solutions.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with CAD, CMMS/PM systems, and maintenance documentation tools.

  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to coach, train, and develop maintenance or facility teams.
